The wife accidentally pushed the twiddle/toggle thing to move the electric mirrors into the doorcard so now there is a gaping circular hole where the switch should be. My car is Still in warranty and swmbo swears she only grazed the switch, and didn't put any pressure on it and was genuinely shocked that it fell in. She as a result thinks it should be rectified under warranty but I very Much doubt it would be covered. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and is the door card easy to remove/refit along with the switch itself?

I would drop that off to the dealer for a warranty-job, obviously it should be able to withstand a womens firm hands!

It has happened to me on my old Octavia which is the same switch as in the Fabia. If you can still see the switch then just pull it into the hole and it will click back into place. If you can't see the switch then that is a problem and maybe the door card will need to come off - to be honest I'd try and fix it yourself by fishing out the switch until you can pull it back into place as sometime when bits of trim are removed they can go back with a rattle!

Otherwise the dealer will have to do it - I found the mirror control knob is just knee height and when swinging my leg in knee hit the knob and pushed it in but no damage was done after I'd pulled it back into place.

Hi Jaxx...if you have a fairly good relationship with your dealer they'll do it FOC. Just explain what you think has happened. They have tools that can go inside the door card to retrieve stuff and it's so easy to pop it back in place. However, if you don't have that good relationship then I would guess it may be 15mins of their time, more if they cannot retrieve it through the hole, so expect a bill for that. Just ask first.
