Not sure on the answer to your questions unfurtunately. I would guess that it was the cat that causes most of the power and noise increases as that is the most restrictive part of an exhaust system.

Sorry maybe you have mis-interpreted my question, but I was under the impression that the sports 100 cel cat was extra, and that you could get the rest of the Milltek system (still retaining the standard cat) for nearly half the price....?

tbh i wouldnt bother with the cat at all

Diesels don't require a cat by law, however, their absence may affect the car's roadworthiness come MOT time- on diesels emissions are measured as particulates, rather than gases as is the case for petrols....

I thought Miltek offered a "cat-back" system and a full system with Sports cat. Saying that, I'm not sure where the cat's are in the Fabia - is it just one in the downpipe?

Chris

no car requires cat by law to be legal

but all cars must be made with one in place

I guess yuo can get a cat back system or a turbo back system.

The cat normally comes as a single unit with the downpipe.

If what you say is correct and you can get the sports cat separately you'll have to remove the standard downpipe and cut the standard cat off to replace.

If you want the cat back system you probably will have to get a connecting pipe to butt the 2 together i.e. standard cat to cat back system.

Not sure how Milltek have put this system together...best to give them a bell to clarify.

What do you mean ? Would you remove the cat completely

 If possible just the cat back system.

I asked AMD and Jabba about the relative merits of the sports cat...

Thanks mate :D

yes yes get ris of the cat imho :) new downpipe etc etc

wonder if we could butcher a golf pd130 exhaust to fit :P

no car requires cat by law to be legal

Providing it wil pass a MOT standard emission test and no engine lights are illuminated.

The Milltek sports cat on the PD is part of a larger bore down pipe. If you use the std downpipe and cat and Milltek system you use a reducer to convert the bore size.
