HP Proliant Microserver FAO Neo_VR

Featured Replies

Yeah, I might have to buy this in bits for cashflow and HDD reasons. Ideally, I'd like ECC RAM (as it's not that much more I don't think), I want several 2TB drives but missed the boat on the price hike, etc. So I might buy the box now while they're still on cashback (assuming it didn't end in Jan) and then add bits on as they become "good value for money). Last I heard from HP was that April this year was when HDD factories hoped to be back up to full production so it would probably be April or later before drive prices come back to 2011 levels.

Went with a StarTech S354UFER. Took a bit of a punt TBH, so will see how things work out with my proposed plans :)

And , how did the punt work out?

Thought cashback ended on them yesterday? Mind you, that was a month extension as well...

EDIT: just checked and they've extended it again! Now the end of this month. All the details you need are here:

http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/pdf/Microserver_Cash_Back_Offer_February_12_tcm_183_1140671.pdf

Cashback ends on them every month since about October 2010. And then starts up immediately afterwards...

I decided to buy the MicroServer instead! So never used the NAS box, it's still wrapped up in the box. You'll see it on the Classifieds soon :)
