Gear box leak on '05 fabia

Featured Replies

I have a 2005 fabia with the 100bhp 1.9tdi engine

There is a small leak from the gear box / transmission - it appears to be coming from a plate cast with a vw log on ( held on by two 12 pt screws)

Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this? I am worried what will fall out it if just unbolt that plate to put some gasket sealant on it.

Just rung my local skoda service centre and they want £55 just to look at it!

That's the old style oil drain plug, but box is presumably "filled for life." Good time to fix the leak and do an oil change for the box.

Well if it just a drain plug then it should be easy enough to sort out. Thanks for that
