no chrome option

Featured Replies

As of now its not possible to order a vrs without the black grill n headlights so thought we could have a thread where anyone with chrome wanting black or black wanting chrome can post with what they have/want and their location so some swaps can take place. Happy swapping.

Noel haha

I'm happy to swap mine, 8 month old car with 5K on the clock.

I got chrome and want black in Essex/london area. Only 2500 miles

Changing the top part of the grill is no problem; the bottom part however is a different matter.

Although difficult getting the grill of is not as bad as some people say the problem comes removing the chrome/black strip. This is very brittle and no matter how gentle I was I still broke several of the fastening clips. I have seen pictures on here of the strip itself broken into several parts.

You may be able to trade the top of the grills but I think you are going to have to buy new strips for the grill unless you are very very lucky.

A light module swap may not be possible

The black light module is a shutter activated bi- halogen unit....The original chrome version has main and high beam H7 bulbs

There is a description for how to remove the bottompart in the stickied blackpack-thread, my old is still useable :-).

Would be nice to know if the lights could be swapped over. I've got the black but prefer the chrome. However the black pack has grown on me since I got the car. Still think the Monte is what the vrs shoulde have looked like.

I demolished my bottom'cheome grill in anger and frustration frustration get it off, absolutely no need for that many clips

think il just lamin-x my lights. rarther keep the two seperate bulbs although it would be cheaper to put a hid kit on the single bulb headlight.
