I've been with them for a number of years - since I got my first car - and not had a problem. While I'm not considering modifying the car I find that scary - especially as I am 26 and can't see it making much difference. My renewal is new at the start of April so I think I'll be doing a ring around this year.

Do you think they've assumed that because you've put the strut brace on you will drive it like a lunatic?

Someone said something about stereotyping a few days ago and this looks like a good example.

Neil, the bloke on the phone said he thought it was quite a lot and said that he thought when I turned 26 that it wouldnt be anywhere near as much. To be honest, I was going to make a start modding my car with the strut brace, but I think I'll now just wait until May when not only will I be 26 but my insurance will also be up for renewal. Besides which, I've just dumped a load of money upgrading my ICE!

If they're anything like Tesco (same underwriters) they have different bands for "cosmetic" mods. They work based on the value of the mod and are something like 0-

I got my renewal quote through from Tesco and decided to do an online quote to see how much I'd be saving by renewing. Turns out that as a "valued" customer, I would be paying
