Few problems - Need help

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Just picked up a Fabia 1.9 SDI Classic and i have a few issues!

1) Heater only works on 3 & 4 - I know its the resistor thingy that has gone but how much is it if any one knows?

2) Speedo dosent work and the mileage dosent clock up. Im guessing this is a speedo sensor of some sort. Any one have any ideas?

3) Handbrake light does not appear on the speedo and if i pull the handbrake up when moving i get no chime. I guess its a switch but were is the switch and how much for a new one?

I'm sure i have a few more issues but if any one can advise i would be grateful! Im a bit desperate!

You'll have to dismantle the console around the handbrake to get to the switch which will be underneath the handbrake itself I think

Thanks for that.

Now just need to find the speedo sensor on the gear box.

Handbrake switch from Skoda dealers, £3.90 + vat last week.

Or, as this switch simply clips into position, it may have been dislodged.

To remove the console, remove the rear ash tray and undo 2 torx screws then remove the front inner ash tray and undo 3 torx screws, prise up the clip-in filler piece - just in front of the h/brake lever and lift the console upwards from the rear, prop it up using the seat belt anchors to gain access to the switch from the rear seat area.

DB.

Found the switch. It had been removed as it was stuck but its too damaged. Skoda have ordered me one in £4.79 inc VAT.

Thanks mogwye
