Desktop PC Quad Core CPU, 4GB Ram

Featured Replies

Coming up for sale soon will be my current main desktop PC. Switching from Windows to Mac, hence the sale.

The PC started life as a shop bought Advent T9509 base unit, the spec has changed since then and the full details are below.

Foxconn Motherboard (orignal board) http://www.foxconnch...id=en-us0000171

Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad CPU.

4GB DDR2 667 memory

2x DVD DL recorders

Nova-T PCI freeview tuner

Firewire PCI card

1 x 250GB SATA HDD

1 x 320GB SATA HDD

Front mount card reader, but can only read upto 2GB cards.

Upgraded power supply,

24" LG LCD widescreen (1920x1200) monitor

Wireless Microsoft keyboard, wired USB mouse.

Logitech 2.1 speaker system

The computer will be supplied with Windows Vista home premium 64bit installed (OS as supplied when new)

The monitor has a minor fault in that after its been on for a couple of hours it develops a slight flicker, not sure how easy this is to fix but its been like it for ages and I have kind of got used to it. The monitor supports HDCP over the DVI connector, so you can play HD bluray or HD-DVD directly if you add a BD drive for example.

This PC has served me well and even compared to modern computers its a very nice performer, the only thing preventing playing modern games is the old nVidia 8300GS PCIE graphics card.

Runs Windows 7 just fine as thats what I currently run on it, including full aero interface.

Price will be added shortly, and it will be pickup only due to weight from Blandford in Dorset, although pickup from Stevenage in Herts is possible by arrangement.

The external HDD in this picture is not included, both HDDs are mounted internally inside the PC.

Any news on the price?

Sounds like the spec is sufficient to allow it to run Mac OS X.

Do some research on Hackintosh and you may be able to re-use it for a couple of hours of effort.

Any news on the price?

Yes, any price set yet? You're not tooo far from where I live.
