Dip in revs

Featured Replies

When I pull up at lights in d my revs drop from 1k rpm to 800 is this the clutch disengaging ?

Hi, need a bit more information. What engine have you got in your car? Petrol or Diesel? Is it DSG? If so what version? But by all accounts I'd say there is probably nothing wrong if the revs are dropping to 800 at that is the normal idle area for most engines.

I would imagine so

The diesel roomster courtesy car I have at the moment when your in gear it will sit at 1000 revs ish, put it in neutral and about a second later you hear the engine tone change and it dips to about 750-800rpm.

thanks forgot that part of the question ive a polo gti same engine an gearbox as the fabia vrs emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

so if it does im guessing its safe to sit on the brakes at junctions as it does seem to take alot longer to change to n put the handbrake on an if you want a quick getaway from the lights emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Its just the clutch engaging dude no need to worry. Listen carefully you may hear it engage n disengage. If you want a quick getaway just knock the stick over to manual and it'll hold it in gear

You'll get used to it. I've always had manuals and wasn't impressed with dsg at first but now I'd never have anything else.

just been put of the group due to reliability and build quality of my polo

ive not really connected with the car :(

VW build quality is improving but it's no where near as good as the Skoda range. See the surveys on the net and note that Skoda have again (just a couple of weeks ago) been voted the top European Car Manufacturer ahead of everyone else based upon build and reliability, etc etc etc...
