Hooray! Just put a deposit down on a 170 Diesel Elegance!

Featured Replies

James from Allams has done me an excelllent deal on a170 Diesel Elegance in Moscovado with Gobi leather! Extras we have gone for are parking assist, electric seat, silver roof rails, tyre preasure, rough package and Anapurnna alloys. Now all we have to do is wait! Said to James we may have to drop by to sit in one to sniff the newness and alleviate our longing!

Once again many thanks James, top man! Once last thing is to see any Bronze or Petrol blues to compare, although Moscovado is the only one we can agree on!

Well done! Nice spec for the car. Now your wait begins.....did James give any time scale for delivery?

Good spec there Heffs, hope your wait is short.

You didn't go for the sunroof too then?? emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

Timescales for delivery is March! But we have resigned to wait as it fits the bill perfectly and is without doubt the best value around. We were tempted by a sunroof but to be honest, i have a Lotus Elise and my wife a Smart fortwo soft top so we have a pretty good wind in the hair experience already! The only other thing I'm now wondering about is the heated windscreen, as maybe I'll get use to noticing the the grid in strong light.

Nice one!! ... but doesn't the Elegance come with Silver Roof Rails as standard...?!

Bronze isn't available until the end of August so unlikely you'll see any soon. We're probably going bronze.

No roof rails are not standard silver on Elegance. James from Allams says we have time if we need to change colour so will be scouring the internet and dealers for any Bronze or petrol blue to look at in the meantime! Half he fun when buying a car is the thrill of the chase! ;)

From experience with the first Yeti which was built before the heated screen became an option, then I think it's a must on the diesel; it takes quite a while to warm up in the winter. Only notice the elements at night when occasionally you get some distortion from oncoming headlights but you get used to it; advantages outweigh disadvantages as they say.

I agree TP.

Quite right, my mistake. The demo car I had was a 170 Elegance and had the silver rails; I assumed it was part of the Elegance pack. I have to say they're a small change that makes a big visual difference (although we're staying with the black).

You cant even notice the heated windscreen elements its very good !!

I agree TP.

I agree too.

My pleasure! Thanks for making the effort to come to Allams in the first place!

You will have fun in the 170 Elegance

Tis a special car, you have made a great choice of car + engine.

Nice spec, went for this colour too but was not brave enough for the Gobi interior!

Welcome to the waiting game. ;)

I have the Gobi and it looks wonderful - no problems at all with dirt, marks etc.

just don't wear jeans in the car. I have lifeshine protection and still have to clean the seats because of the colour transfer..emoticon-0149-no.gif twice in 8 months and 10,500 miles.

Thats what I would be scared of, from previous experience in X5 with light leather seats dark jeans and the likes do not go well with the colour regardless of how careful you are. I have to admit that the light interiors are much nicer and a more pleasant enviroment to spend driving time in but just couldn't live with it again and for that reason I'm out!

I love the Gobi interior and wouldn't consider the black. Too durgy for me. I like the brightness it brings to the interior of the car.

Funny thing is the lighter beige in my old Octavia didn't suffer the same problem that I remember.

I am happy to occasionally clean the interior and then it reminds me to nourish the leather at the same time.....
