Audi A6 Has the 2.0 170 Engine as an option too.

Octavia

Superb

There are however several engine codes for each 170 and 140 respectively, so although they may appear to be the same they will have minor differences to them.

Blimey thats quite a few then! And does it have a turbo?

170 is common rail and uses "Piezo" injectors which I think are like "uber-PD".

Dad's got an Audi TT with the lump in and whilst its OK, it feels kind of "dull". I suppose I am just used to a bit more excitement....

Not all the 170hp are cr, some are pd, think the Leon FR is was pd.

Yeah, changed around 08/58. Dad's TT is a 59.

Not sure what other differences there are. Injectors might be better, as could the turbo. Could simply be down to VW group deciding to allow more boost/fuelling etc.

Have a guess at what the 'T' in TDi stands for...

I'm guessing there's not a diesel-engined car on sale today (or for the last few years) that doesn't have a turbo.

The Yeti is already on to it's second version of the 170 and 140 CR engines, only the 110 still has the 2.0 CR engine it was launched with. All the manual 4x4 gearboxes have also been revised for the MY12.

What other cars have the CR170 has been well covered.

CR110 and CR140 have the same 'hardware/parts' and it is just the ECU map that produces the power difference; whereas the CR170 has larger turbo, higher spec/output injectors and better map.

Hence a CR110 can be remapped to produce the same as a remapped CR140 (to the level of a healthy CR170) at around 175/180bhp, whereas the CR170 can be mapped to a higher output, albeit limited by the capability of the DPF, at around 200/205bhp.
