VRS antifreeze (for engine coolant)

Featured Replies

I checked the engine coolant the other day, and after doing only 2700-2800 miles, the level is at the min mark or slightly below, and didn't really check when i picked the car up, so it could be low when i picked it up but its low never the less so i looked at toping it up.

I looked in the manual and it said it comes from factory with TL VW 774G, and should be topped up with variant "G13". I looked all around for G13 and dealers are suggesting that G13 doesn't exist at the present time. Although in the manual is says the variant G12 plus plus, will be fine, is this true? And another thought should the dealer be responsible for replenishing the coolant as i thought it was not under "wear and tear". I do have the full servicing this too.

I couldn't see any leaks under the bonnet but wondering if it would be worth while to get it check out, as i saw on the web it said the only way that it gets lower, is by leaks, although does none get evaporated?

cheers for responses, max

mine was at just under minimum for a few thousand miles up to the 10k service, I just left it (obvious pleanty in) and they topped it up at the 10k service..

if you want to top it up, for that small ammount, I'd just use water.

Dealers are not responsible for replacing any consumables unless any work or part replaced requires it.. i.e Anti Freeze, Engine Oil

The main reason for this is because these things burn quicker the harder you drive
