So I have now sold my fabia greenline 2, ended up selling it to Marlborough skoda for a very fair price. Now on my way to pick up my vw caddy maxi life bluemotion, bit different, bigger, but we really couldn't get used to the smaller car, previous car was a Citroën Berlingo and we struggled without the size and flexibility. Fabia was a great car and I will of course miss the mpg. On a plus side, lost very little selling it, about £1k and I had it since January.

I think the dealer will do ok with it, it is right on the edge of the London congestion zone. Was a long 450 mile drive to drop it off though. Now getting the coach to Kent to pick up the new car and then drive it all the way back(Glasgow).

I bought my Fabia off Marlborough, they put it on a trailer and dropped it off at the house.

They offered to collect it but this would affect price and I needed to come down to get my new car from ashford anyway so just did it. 63mpg, 70mph, 450 miles by the way, cruise on all the way. (indicated figures)

Brave Man driving South at the moment! 63 mpg is great all the best with the new car.

Hello,

That's interesting, can you please give more infomation on selling it back? I'm in a similar situation, could you please tell me how many miles, extras etc you had on it and how much you sold it for?

I was in a similar situation and in abit of a limbo still weather to keep the car or sell it..

Did you just ring the dealer and ask if they wanted a GL2?

I understand if you don't want to share such infomation.

Hi,

sold a number of my cars to dealers, sometimes you can get a better price than a P/X, particularly if their short on used stock or the car you've got are hard to get hold of and or in demand.

Could try James at Allams (01372 736503), he's sometimes in the market for fairly new Skoda's.

Ok so it was a jan 2011, skoda fabia greenline 2, estate, anthracite grey, no options 8300 miles, he gave me £10,500, which I was very happy with, I had it on eBay for 1 month at £10,995, loads if enquiries a couple serious, a solid £10k offer, a £10.5k almost solid offer, but timing didn't work out. Matlborough skoda now have it on sale for £11,995. (that's if it's not been trashed in the riots)

Hope that's helps. Let me know and I could maybe pass them your details or whatever.

Thanks both for the infomation. my situation, the amount of miles i'm doing, seems to be up and down over the last few months, got my car in may and have done 5,000 miles, so I just want to be sure before I get something that does less MPG that I won't be doing 15,000 + miles a year first. It's hard to work out what to do, so I appreciate the infomation.

Thanks.

As a means of justifying the more fuel I will need to buy, so far managed 55mpg in the new vw, I decided that the £115 road tax can be offset with the £80 cheaper insurance , and the extra £250 fuel p/a offset against the 2year or 25000 mile service intervals on the new car. Sad, I know.

hopefully I will be part exing my 08 fabia 1.4tdi for a vw transporter soon, going to get it changed to a caravanette cheaper than buying one of the shelf, I will be keeping the crtdi until the new concept d comes outemoticon-0148-yes.gif
