Biggest Alloys on the Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I recently lowered my Fabia Vrs 40mm, I had problems with speed bumps, they are literally everywhere where I live, but I did not mind as it was handling really well.

Then some tit decided to overtake me and hit the front of my car when pulling back in, and since I didn't inform the insurance about the springs I thought I best get them off and put the standard ones back on. While taking them off it was apparent the minor scraping on speed bumps, was actually really rough and had badly worn away the plastic engine guard and scraped other bits under the car.

So with the damage and the fact I can drive everywhere at more than 20mph again I have decided to get bigger alloy wheels to fill the arches out and stiffen up the suspension a bit.

I am just looking for any information into what is the biggest alloy wheel size people have fitted onto their cars without rubbing?? Any info would be well appreciated.

Thanks

Cal

Wrong approach.

Larger wheels and standard suspension will just make the car look like a 4x4. Larger wheels also won't stiffen the suspension.

But if you want a simple answer to your question, people have fitted 18" wheels in the past.

Sorry, I worded it wrong, I want to get bigger wheels and stiffen the suspension seperately.

Thanks for the reply.

Ah OK, understood.

If you're doing both, and don't want coilovers, then fit some Eibach springs.

I wouldn't go larger than a 17" wheel. Also rubbing of wheels can depend on the width and offset of the wheels chosen, not just how physically big the wheel is. So bare that in mind.
