Failed light switch

Hiya folks

(I have searched for this, but cannot see anything suitable)

My front foglights used to come on by themselves every now and again, now however, they are on all the time - regardless of where the switch is positioned.

Im not a fan of driving round with front fogs on when its not foggy, so I'd like to fix this fairly sharpish!

I'm guessing that the switch has gone kaput, but I'm not paying £150+ from skoda for a replacement.

Has this happened to anyone else before? if so, how did you fix it?
