Wheels

Featured Replies

Hey guys after ur opinions.

My wheels are showing signs of bubbling and have caught the kerns a couple of times. They are 4 years old and covered 60,000 miles. They are the standard 18" zenith alloy.

Does anybody know how much it would be for a complete 4 wheel refurb to new condition?

What would be the additional cost to have them powder coated? And what colour?

Lastly does anybody know the cost of a new set of OEM 18" rims.

Cheers for any help

(ps. Anyone going to the Wilton supercar day 14/8/11?)

Dealer price is probably £220+ inc VAT

There are some available on ebay HERE

Powder coating you're probably looking at £200 upwards for a decent job

Is that dealer price £220 per wheel?

They are just looking at little battered and tired so need to do something

I'm afraid so - outrageous really when you could get a set of BBS CH aftermarket rims for about £200 more :(

Lepsons are apparently one of the better companies, they are based in Gillingham and Swindon. I have been quoted £260 + VAT for 4 wheels. The process includes removing the tyre, shot blasting and chemically stripping the wheel, repairing any rim damage etc, priming, powder coating and lacquer. Finally they refit and balance the tyres. This price is based on having them done in smoked chrome, it is slightly cheaper for the standard colour as you can see on the link.

Some a bit closer to home, if they are still available that is. Clicky.

Thanks for all the replies.

Leptons are looking favourable.

What do you guys think to a colour on them bearing in mind I have a race blue car. Was thinking maybe black?
