Dealers !

About 10 days ago. Conversation goes something like this. 'Car will be here next week but because of workload for 1st March will not be ready until 2nd.'

Great says I. Thats fine. It will definatley be ready for 2nd though. Yes says dealer.

So. Last Friday arrives and I sort all the insurance out and drop the cover note around at the dealers. Insurance on new car starts on Tuesday and old car stops.

Day is booked off work.

Arrive home from work today and no message on phone ? Call dealer.

Sorry Sir the car has not arrived. Hence it will not be ready on Tuesday because it's not here !

Dealer says they said they would call 24hrs before car arrives at dealers. However they definatley told me it would be ready on Tuesday. I would not speculatively arrange a day off work and the insurance. I'll but it down to a bit of confusion.

Whats pi$$ed me off however is that they have had the covernote since Sunday so it's obvious that I expected to take delivery on Tuesday.

Why no call then on Monday or today to explain the situation ?

So. No car. Wasted days holiday and have to pi$$ about with the insurance.

Not happy......

Make sure you name and shame him in the dealer reviews section.

Tis a PITA but in all likelyhood not the dealers fault.

Granted they should keep you informed, but this sort of thing is a perfect example of why ordering for New Reg Day is a bad idea.

I waited a couple of weeks after March 1st 2003, and had the RS in less than a week, as promised.

Push for a few extras as compensation :D

No. No naming and shaming. At the end of the day I'll get over it. I've still a nice new car to look forward to.

The dealer is also friendly and the sales person dealing with us is a good bloke. It's just one of those things I suppose.

As they said in Apollo 13 'I guess we've just had our glitch for this mission' :D I hope !

At least I can have a nice lay in in the morning !

Mine didn't arrive until 17th September last year instead of 1st, despite three month wait. Such is life when you want a car with a waiting list...

You'll enjoy it more when you get it!

Waiting list is fine as long as you're told. It sux to loose a day's holiday but I certainly don't feel it's worth name&shaming for that. At least they were friendly about it, and assuming they deliver the goods in the not-too-distant-future it should be ok I'm guessing :)

As far as I'm concerned, all dealers that I've used are rubbish, and no it's not me being fussy!!!

Take my Furby Vrs, 45psi in the tyres, stickers not even fitted straight, car covered in wax when it finally dried, grease all over the windscreen and the o/s rear seatbelt jammed behind the backrest and caught up in the latch.

I recently bought a Seat leon Cupra R. When I picked the car up, there was no AirCon. They "Sorted it" and put 18 bar of pressure in the system, when it should have been around 5 bar. They crushed a sill and wrecked the plastic skirt when jacking it up and tried to repair an alloy wheel when they promised me a new one!!

I think these dealers treat our
