ON-LINE WEB SITES

Featured Replies

Still waiting :wall: for DWP to confirm/refuse my disability claim, nothing serious just chronic liver failure and throat cancer, then I can order my new Yeti.

To while away the time have been looking at some on-line discount websites and at first glance they seem to provide a decent service.

Anyone had dealings with these, good, bad or indifferent?

Any advice, comments or warnings gratefully accepted

Many thanks

Another Yorkshireman looking for a cheap deal - I like it.:giggle:

There are a few suggestions by people who have used certain suppliers and dealers - on this site. Do a "Search".

For myself, I bought my Yeti on the strength of a local dealership for easy servicing.

Geoff,

I didn't think you got a choice of dealers if you are going through Motability?

(I hope I am not being too presumptive in that question. If I am, my apologies)

Allams, site sponsor, very well thought of here, but not local to you. That might not be a problem....your call.

Also not local to you are Marlborough West London (Recommended from my personal experience). They used to be the supplier for Drive the Deal but the DtD site no longer shows Skoda prices, so presumably are looking for another supplier to deal with.

Others I've seen mentioned, in no particular order........

Carquake.

Auto-E bid.

Broadspeed.

Autofinders.

Broker 4 Cars. (who have been trading for many years and currently show diesel Yeti's for over £3,500 discount!)

Carfile. (well established family firm of brokers)

Many others if you Google to get a feel for asking prices . Yeti's seem to be quite well discounted - maybe to encourage sales in the light of long waiting times. But Skoda aren't the only ones with that issue.

As you live in Batley pop along to DM Keith at Osset they gave a fantastic deal on my Yeti purchase.

Geoff, I hope I am not being presumptive either but you might find the following useful.

You can choose the dealer, but you are limited to those who are registered with Motability.

Their website lists all participating dealers in your area and is searcheable.

The price is set so no haggling apart from perhaps getting mats and or mudflaps thrown in?

The prices are re-negotiated every quarter and sometimes, the longer a particular model has been on the list, the less the advance payment so it might be worth waiting for the new list to be published at the start of October.

Having said that, it has been known for advance payments to go up too!

As far as choosing the actual model of yeti you want i would suggest going into the dealer and siting down with them to get the figures.

the Motability website lists all the Yeti models under the same title so it's impossible to tell which you are actually looking at!

Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply.

On the subject of Motability I am waiting for the DWP to pronounce from on high if I am entitled to any benefit (at the moment I get the grand sum of Nowt :swear:)

The model is sorted, sort of,SE Plus + loads of goodies to bring it up to near Elegance spec. without leather and heated seats and cheaper than the Elegance.

Undecided on colour, waiting to see some of the new ones in the flesh.

Been to D.M. Keith's in Ossett as they are very local to me, very good service but no discount - but we haven't discussed this matter in detail I'm sure when we do they will realise no discount means no deal, not only for financial reasons but there is a principal involved here, I don't pay full whack.

Cheers and thanks

Its probably difficult to negotiate a discount until you're actually ready to purchase.

The sales chappie I dealt with at Keith's was Gavin Kelly.

Thanks Mike, as soon as I get some response from the DWP I can spring into action - well spring might be a bit of an exaggeration - wobble might be nearer the truth! :giggle:
