octavia drivers door electrics

Help needed

The drivers door lock does'nt work using the key fob but works when I use the key

in the door itself all the other doors work correctly using the both the fob and with the key.

Also ive noticed when I try to adjust the drivers side mirror using the switch on the drivers door,

the drivers side mirror does'nt work at all but the passengers side mirror will adjust even when the drivers side is selected

on the switch.

one more thing the head lights left on tone does'nt work does anyone know where it is located?

Cheers

Terry.

Your faults are all linked together... You will find the mutiplug for the electric window motor (it is also a door control module) has water ingress and possibly corroded the pins of the motor.. easy fix for you if you havent got any special tools and multiplug repair kit would be to get a new drivers door loom and electric window motor

The lights on/ door ajar buzzer is inegrated in the instrument cluster but this fault could be interlinked because of the door catch switch goes through the door control module

Thanks for the info!

I will start with the door control module and see what happens.

I did have a thread for the DIY fix for this but I cant find it.

Thanks For the thread!

couldnt remove plug from module the lever section at the back of the plug snapped off :'(

Loooks like im going to have to replace the wiring loom.

does anyone know how much a new one would cost from a main dealer? or is it worth getting a second hand one from a salvage yard.

Cheers Terry

get a second hand one mate, a new one is prob around 80+ ide say. I know when I looked on ETKA it was a lot of money.

Thanks again

will try local salvage yard tomorrow let you know how I get on ...... :wonder:

I have a second hand loom if you get stuck, have sent you a pm

my wife managed to lock the drivers door so that it refused to open or unlock,I managed to open it but didn't know how at the time. I managed to replicate the fault by pulling the door handle before the lock had fully unlocked (if you know what I mean), I have found the way to fix this is, from the drivers seat, pull the door handle to open & then press the unlock button on the armrest

Replaced wiring loom (second hand one ) But drivers door still not working from remote fob.

Been in touch with a main dealer for some info and they said it could need key fob reprograming and would cost £40 + vat

and take half an hour. any one got any ideas. :(
