Sheffield Bodyshop, John Bees?

Featured Replies

Well I've just received 'that' phonecall from my other half who has reversed the Fabia vRS into a concrete post, how violently I'm not yet sure. Has anyone got any recommendations for Sheffield bodyshops, a friend recommended John Bee's:

and they seemed to be helpful enough on the phone. The place opposite where she works quoted £85 and said they just fill it (I suspect that it wouldn't be a good job, but maybe she's just upset about the damage).

Thanks in advance,

Paul

John Bees do a lot of restoration etc. and did seem friendly on the phone when I contacted them following a bump a number of years ago in my Mitsubishi but the actual experience was poor. The car needed a new rear valance / wing and bumper etc. after a bump on the motorway and came back looking good but leaked. As a result I ended up with a spare wheel well full of water every time it rained for months, despite them having a number of attepts to fix the issue. I eventually fixed it myself by removing internal trim and tracing the run of water. It turned out they had fogotton to seal between the body panels (or hadn't sealed along thier entire length) and hence water was getting in through a join in the new panels behind the bumper.

As a result I've avoided them at all costs since but, I have to say, it was many years ago and may just have been a one off as they are reknowned fro good quality restorations.

I recommend Deepcar Autobodies (near J36)...

and I've also heard a lot of praise for Imageworx (near J30)...

They have always been good to my cars. My last project was the following Triumph Dolomite Sprint :

They had that in for months and did a good job. Not cheap but 1st class workmanship.

Full bare metal restoration etc.

Recommended by many Owners Clubs etc.

I've looked nowhere else since locating them via the Jaguar Owners Club.

Cheers,

Julian.
