LED Sidelight bulbs

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried a pair of these, or anything else similar ?

Xenon White Super Bright Version 6 LED 501 Type Bulbs

I'm looking to replace the standard sidelight bulbs in my Fabia vRS and came across them.....

Also has anyone attempted to change sidelight bulbs in a Fabia that has Xenon headlights fitted or is it the norm to take them to skoda to get them changed ? If so, how much do you think they'd charge if i supplied my own bulbs ? (LED ones)

Any help is much appreciated

I just used the blue vision bulbs that came free with my vision plus dipped beam.. I've not got any LEDs anywhere on my car, oh hang on, yeah I have I just remember where I've shoved a few. :o

Where have you shoved a few :D

You can do it yourself if you really want to.

TBH, there's soooo little space between the rear of the covers and the battery / fuel pump (I think) that's it's major hassle to change them.

I tried changing the sidelights in my ex-furby with xenons and ended up half dismantling the front of the car 'cos I dropped a bolt.

If any bulb is blown, then I think the dealer would change it FOC. If it's a "styling" bulb then all will depend on how friendly the dealer is ;)

I've "modded" two of the three internal light bulbs. :o It needed doing though for better ambient light. ;)

I dont think a Skoda garage would install the led lights for you... coz they aint euro approved.. ie technically they are illegal.

i bought a set a while back and they were utter rubbish. they dont suit the fabias headlight shape, and a couple of the leds failed after less than a week. i got a replacement set which did the same thing.. so eventually i got some of the bluevison free with the powerbulbs order... and they are much better... brighter and havent broken yet.

Xenon headlights are a pain to change bulbs in... skoda would want to take the headlights out so will prob charge an hours labour... save youself hassle and dont bother :)

Nice one

I've had some of the osram indicators like yours before on my old car....just ordered some of these to replace my front and rears:

Silvatec

I noticed on your pictures that you've got stanadard headlights and not Xenon's....Yours might have failed due to them being too close to the headlight bulb as apparently a part of them is prone to melting causing them to flicker/not work if mounted within 3 inch of the normal headlight bulb due to the heat :thumbdwn:

I think in the Xenon units, the sidelight bulb is further away than in standard ones so fingers crossed I'll be ok :o
