Experience with fitting new downpipe (tfsi)

Featured Replies

Hi All

During next week I'll fit a Milltek turbo-back system, and hence also a new downpipe. I'll have a friend help me since he has nice workshop with a lift. Today he asked me if I knew whether the bolts or threads in the turbo/manifold are know to corrode a lot, so we risk breaking it when taking of the old downpipe, and here I need some help ;)

Are the bolts known to break, are hey bolts + nuts or something else?

If I need to get hold on some bolts/nuts before I change the downpipe, anybody knows which size the bolts are?

Thanks in advance

Mine were fine on a 07 plate with 95k

Normaly ok but be liberal with wd40 or equivalent

Ok sounds nice. Do you remember if they were bolt + nuts with a hole through both parts, thread in the turbo or pin bolts through the down pipe?
