Greenline II Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have been given a reasonable offer to trade in my Superb (09) plate for a new Greenlne II Octavia. Pennies are pinching and looks a great deal in terms of economy. Once had a 105 BHP Octavia and really liked it. Currently doing 20,000 miles a year... need comfort and economy though over technology and expense!

Any users out there have comments on ride, economy, using it as a tow vehicle (750 kilos), suspension difference, etc will be much appreciated... need to confirm by tomorrow morning if I'm going to do the deal.

I have the 1.6 tdi with 16" rims, very nice crusing highway car/break.

What lacks power under 1500rpm, its known to be the best engine in its class between 3000-4500rpm.

Yes 1,2,3,4 can reach 5000rpm

It only has 5 speed gerabox, but top speed is around 195km/h at 3750rpm.

Couple days ago filled it up and did 1000km before filling up again.

4 people, AC on. That´s not bad.

But still think the 2.0 liter 140 hp model will do the same or even better fuel economy and has more power when needed.

Although the 1.6 will suprise many specially on the highway. Specially if you keep the revs up over 2200rpm.

Thanks Alberg... good information.

Bear in mind that you might be paying a premium for the super efficient model.

And that premium might be more than you would ever save over a standard diesel.

So I'd get the calculator out first and check if a normal diesel isn't going to be cheaper.
