2nd Month Update

Featured Replies

Month two has been a mix of town driving and another wee holiday.

The car was fully loaded for a long weekend in Loch Tay, last weekend - 3x mtn bikes on the Thule roofrack, plus full luggage and "camping" gear for 4 (sleeping bags, BBQs, food and camping chairs) all squeeeeeezed in every available space. Helped by taking out the middle seat and moving the rear seats forward (all camping chairs and sleeping bags then fitted in the space behind and between the seats).

Campsite was on a steep hillside, so the Offroad button was used to ascend some slippery grass slopes and also used it in conjunction with the Hill Descent Control for the first time, to get down the rough and snaking main thoroughfare - how fab is that function  - 2nd gear descent, no feet on the pedals, with the car doing all the braking for you  .

We had to take our youngest to A&E late one night after she bashed her front tooth (50 miles away). Rain lashing down, dark, snaking Highland A roads, adding to the dread of A&E. Fab and comfortable journey (great Xenons, supplement by the fogs at one stage), only let down by my crap reading of the TomTom, Anyway, ended reasonably well.

On the final journey home, first on the scene of a RTA, with an MX5 going of the dual carriageway in front of me, hitting a road sign. Thankfully it ended without much injury, but one less MX5 on the DVLAs register emoticon-0106-crying.gif .

Use the car today to get rid of all the crap in my old rented garage - took all the seats out and drove the assortment of junk to the recycle centre (how heavy are those seats ! :S ). Popped in to the dealer on the way home and he reminded me where the auto-dimming function was for the rear view mirror (which I should have remember from the Passat and really would have liked to have remembered for weekend before). Just de-scummed the inside and exterior of "Candy" today and she's looking as fresh as a daisy.

Now it's time to get some M&S tyres - not just any tyres, M&S tyres :p .

I use mine for camping too, with and without bikes and the Yeti is a perfect camping car. I got stuck twice in my Audi out camping in tricky spots. So have no issues with where I go in the Monster!

Sorry to hear about the A&E trip! But glad to hear it all ended well.
