Hi. Just joined on here in hope of getting help to sort out my 1999(T) Felicia 1.3L

Last week suddenly key would not go into ignition. Boyfriend finally got it in with lots of WD40, and it switched on dash electrics but would not start engine. BF could start it by touching a wire between live and solenoid with key in start pos. Wasted money on a mobile "mechanic" who couldn't even get it started as BF did!! He said whole new ignition switch, estimated @ over £200.

After finding out that this was true and Skoda garage wanted £225 to do it, he had a brainwave and wired up a starter button set into the steering column. It worked brilliantly and we were really pleased to have solved the problem so easily and cheaply (or so we thought).

Wasn't until the evening that we discovered we have no headlights, indicators, wipers or blower fan. Gutted! So we are back to square one.

Now realise we only need an ignition barrel, not the whole assembly, and we can get one for about £65 new, (or even cheaper used but same thing could happen again). He needs help, please, on how to get the old barrel out and the new one in.

I know this should be on the Felicia forum as have found many Q & A postings on this subject but they all say they have been moved to the "Felicia Forum" and I cannot track down this forum on the site. Have found specialist sections for all Skoda models except Felicia. Please help!
