http://www.crucial.c...5&SID=247783655 If you want to risk it.

Bit slow on the in/out speeds when compared with the Corsair, does this really matter in the real world though ?? or is it all pub talk ?

It matters if you're getting an IO bottleneck or of you're looking at an old controller that doesn't support newer features.

I picked up a Corsair 120GB Force 3 SSD last night, have not opened it yet with view to maybe returning it, my board is only sata 2 not 3 so dunno if it's worth bothering.

Or am I just being picky, what sort of boost can I expect ??

Itll be a massive improvement even on SATA2

double check there isnt a firmware update for it first before you put stuff on it, infact make sure its one of the updated versions (the originals were recalled)

Been there done that, my a$$ may be dumb, but I ain't no dumb a$$ :giggle:

Worth doing on SATA 2 as you'll still be talking about 3Gbit, less protocol throughput, which isn't to be sniffed at. Sure 6Gbit would be nice, but this way when you do go for a shiny new motherboard this one will work with your new 6Gbit ports.

All done a fitted, cable managment is the next job !!

What a screamer ... and yes you were all right about the ssd, win7 installed in 11mins, the longest part was the file extraction part which the dvd drive now creates a bootleneck.

Once the drive stopped spinning it literally took about 3 mins to write the data and reboot.

small downloaded programs just install in the blink of an eye.

A 720p mkv unpacked and checked in about 1 min, and concersion happened in about 30 secs.

Overall I'm impressed

Be interested to see your encoding speed up when you next do it :)
