Columbus setings

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I plan to go one trip around Europe so I can not fiend right setting for Columbus !

I wrote destination Lithuania,Kaunas about 300 km from Riga Latvia! And I know this road have to get to Kaunas, but Navigation showed me totally wrong way have to get there ! So I do not want to face such things somewhere in Europe driving unknown roads

I currently have following options

Route-FASTEST

Dynamic Route-Automatic

Motorways-ON

Toll Route-ON

Excluded Roads-On

Tunnels-ON

Ferries-OFF

There is nothing wrong with the settings. It's the map data you have in your Columbus, it's outdated.

Map data is unfortunately always outdated and problems like you have are always possible.

Did the nav take you a much longer way because it stuck to main roads?

I drove from Estonia to Poland a few years ago through Latvia and Lithuania and my TomTom was useless so I had to use a map which was felt old fashioned...

If you have the dynamic route option turned on then follow your instincts as to where you want to go and the Columbus will adapt it's route to suit. Maybe if you changed your route option from fastest, which will take you mostly on fast, main roads to shortest and your excluded roads to off then that might make a difference.
