Problems with my new VRS

Featured Replies

Hi guys, this is my 1st post. i have a problem and didnt know if anyone could shine some light on this. i got a brand new fabia vrs on sunday 21st of august and after driving 60 miles the car started idling erractic and stalling when putting in reverse or drive. so rac have taken my car and its at the dealers trying to get fixed.

Im a bit ****ed that aftra driving 60 mile the car started playing up and didnt know if anyone else has had any problems.

Dealer reckons dirty fuel but if that was the case it would be **** throughout the whole of the rev range and this was not the case. i have heard of problems with the fuel pressure switch.

Just wondering if other people have had this problem and if a large amount have should they not really issue a recall ont his fault.

thanks

lee

What fuel have you been using?

As above - clarify this. You 'should' be using 98 ron (super unleaded)

Our 1.2 Tsi did this after 60 miles, thre vaccuum hose for the brakes came off, its a spring fitting and apparently is not always pushed home at the factory.

Exact same fault you describe diagnosed and fixrd by the RAC at the roadside. Did you have problems with brakibg?

Yes i know i should be using superunleaded but the fact that tesco garage didnt have it in when i filled up afta leaving the dealer and also with me living on an island none of the petrol stations (4 all together) supply super unleaded.

Well also because i live on island RAC use a contractor who well can i say aint the best. the guy watched me start the car it idle okay for 10sec whilst the choke is on then when that is cut off it started idling badly, and at that stage he got back in his van and reported the problem to skoda assist to be the ecu :o

The car left for the dealers on thursday which i had to pay the ferry trip for and will have todo the same to get it back, i have been told i can reclaim this from skoda once problem is sorted.

I have to be honest i didnt notice anything majorly wrong with the brakes felt okay but then again i didnt slam them on or anything.

Just waiting to hear back from the dealers (arnold clark inverness), gonna phone saturday afternoon if i havent heard from them sooner

Thanks for the replys guys

never had a problem with mine running on supermarket 95 ron

Problems that where described can't be leaded to using fuel off to low quality.

The only problems you get are slightly higher consumption and lower performance, your car won't die / having rough idle / stalling from it!

I've had one case where my gearbox decided that it wouldn't cooperate with me, but I just pulled over to the side and switched gear from drive to neutral and back.

20000 miles after that, it haven't f***** up once :).
