Superb Mid Life Refresh?

Featured Replies

I think the current model superb is out since 2008.

Anyone know if there is a mid life refresh coming soon?

I'd love to see Greenline start/stop, regenrative breaking features etc throughout the range to get the tax rate down.

And I'd love to see LED DRL front & rear.

That would be nice - to get the current VW Bluemotion-type 2.0CR Diesel engine in and drop the tax/up the mpg. I am still not convinced the 1.6CR

would be lively enough in such a big car for when a bit of grunt is needed and worry about the real life mpg when not driven all the time with an egg

between foot and accelerator pedal!

Wonder if a Superb refresh would include the updated 1.8 engine that the Audi A5 has just had on its refresh - supposed to be much better on fuel,10bhp more and much lower co2 due to stop start.

Got the current 1.8 and its great in the Octavia. With the economy/co2 improvements it would be great to upgrade to a Superb.

Are there any additions/changes to the MY 2011 vehicle?

The current range has been out since just before the end of 2008, almost 2009 in fact. Mine has just passed 3 years old and is one of the first registered in the UK. If the Octavia2 is anything to go by then the refresh will be somewhere around 5-6 years old, so still a while yet.

In the last 3 years the engine lineup has already changed, dropped were the PD140 2.0 Diesel and the 1.9PD diesel in the greenline as these were replaced by CR variants. I would expect engine changes to continue, but not expect anything new cosmetically for a while yet.

Skoda still have the new Octavia 3, and at least one new model to come on stream before the Superb is updated cosmetically.

I would expect any new changes to effectively reduce the cost to make the car and increase its profit margin to VAG as they are known to not be happy with the current superb taking sales away from the Passat, so expect less specification and cheaper materials on any facelift.
