Towing

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone here ever towed with the Octavia II vRS Petrol? Need some advice, wife has seen a caravan, it's a lunar Delta 540/6 twin axle.

Not 100% sure about towing... don't want to buy it only to have it ruin my car ;)

EDIT: - This is the Fabia forum... :D

This is a big heavy caravan! Its maximum weight is about 1700 kg and I would not advise you to tow that weight with a car that weighs in at about 1500 kg.

I would advise you to find the kerbweight of the car and limit yourself to caravans of maximum weights around 85% to 90% of the car's kerbweight. This gives a wise safety margin.

Check on the what tow car website - It's a Dutch site (in English) and very good. Just punch in the car and caravan models and it will give you detailed towing performance.

Not a chance your Vrs cannot legally tow that size of caravan and as pointed out any caravan that you do consider should not be any heavier than 85% of your cars kerbweight

If you want a twin axle at 1700kg you need a car or 4x4 with a kerbweight of at least 1900kg
