Hi guys,

I've not found much info scouting around but I'm interested in fitting an external antenna (magnetic base type) and I'm wondering how to run the cable through the car.

I can't see any other way than drop the cable through the boot door - short of tearing out the radio aerial! - but where do I go from here?

Maybe you lads with your boom boxes can help :p

Not exactly a solution but an alternative would be to have a window mounted antenna - the type that stick itself to the edges of the window from the inside. a bit like this?

Shouldnt be too hard to find a route through the interior...

What is the aerial for?

For a CB radio, so the window aerial is out, soz.

Id just use cable ties along the bottom of the dash...

Tuck it under the plastic trim along the bottom of the doors...

Into the boot along the side trim and up tucked away under the lip of the c pillar.

Not sure if you could add a small male/female connector at the top of the c pillar for easy removal and refit?

down either side, down the middle? or up a pillar and along roof? i would go for down a side, it will definately fit and shortest route.

Is it just a single co-axial cable?

Yeah, it's a piece of co-ax about 10mm in diameter... unfortunately terminated with a connector more like 20mm :(

I could cut it off and recrimp I suppose.
