I am contemplating placing an order for a Superb SE Plus so completed the car configurator online and noticed that it said that the satnav is the Columbus as fitted as standard on the Elegance model. When looking at the Superb brochure for the Superb Plus it states that the satnav is the Amundsen.

Can somebody please clarify this conflicting information and also provide an opinion on the merits or otherwise on the two systems. In particular I would want to add full 7 digit post codes and also have the ability to add other POI's such as speed cameras.

The configurator is wrong in so many areas, so I would suspect the brochure is correct and you would get the Amundsen. Would suggest a chat with a dealer.

Can't comment on either systems though as I have neither!

and yet as have commented on another thread, the brochure says you can have variable boot floor on Greenline, the configurator says not, and apparently the brochure is wrong and configurator correct.

The confusion is really really irritating!!

Have no problem with the Passat version of the Amundsen, and imho the ability to use 7 digit postcodes is VERY overrated.

As an organisation one of our functions is that on occasions we have to instruct people to go "There - NOW! grade one run"

Using a 7 digit postcode has on occasions proved so embarrassing that street address is king.

Thanks to all for coming back to me on this thread. I have had confirmed by my dealer that the Columbus satnav is only on the Elegance option.

On this basis and with other useful standard goodies I have chosen to order the Elegance instead which I did this afternoon. Details of my spec are in the newbie welcome forum if you are interested.
