Centre Armrest

Featured Replies

The centre armrest of my Mk1 Octavia Elegance is padded with cloth top.

After 135,000 it has become flattened and the cloth needs replacing.

Is it easy to remove from the arm rest and is the whole thing available as a spare part preferably trimmed in black leather?

I looked under it but cannot see any obvious means of attachment of the pad to the plastic hinged lid.

Tried retrimming a cloth armrest with leather an it looked horrible. ended up buying new leather topped part for about £50.

The lid does come off. There is a trick to carefully prising the hinge away from the inside of the armrest box. I found a guide somewhere on internet.

Try searching "Golf Armrest" as more info than with octavia.

Mine is fine except it squeaks when you move your arm on the rest. It is definitely something under the foam as I can squeeze the cover between my fingers to make the noise.

So any guide to fixing your problem would be useful on here to me and others.

Thanks.
