clutch prob

Featured Replies

Hi every one i have a skoda octavia 1.9 tdi pd on a 57 plate when ever i press the clutch down in neutral it rattels what could this be the car has done 107000 miles

I had an old volvo which did that.... was the release bearing.

Could be the duel mass flywheel is starting to fail, are you getting any vibrations though the clutch pedal?

i would tend to agree with MBAMES sound likes clutch release bearing. the bearing itself is not that expensive as long as you can find somewhere to buy it seperate. some places only sell clutch kit. but fitting it is is costly. an while your at it you may as well fit a new clutch anyway.

caused by a lot of stop start driving usualy

Sounds to me that one of the two handbreak cables have snapped. Replace both cables as it's false economy just to change one. And you'll be pleased to know they don't cost a lot.
