The Countdown Begins

Maybe this should be in the "Order times..." thread but...

...my Race Blue vRS has a confirmed build date of 09 September with delivery around the first week of October.

Seeing as I ordered the car in the first week of April I have not gotten particularly excited until now as the days can be marked off. Trouble is, my MK1 vRS is running faultlessly (definite jinx) and I'm still enjoying it hugely, especially as I've been doing a lot of motorway runs recently so 70 and above (ish) is a breeze and very relaxed.

Onwards and upwards as I am sure those who upgraded from a MK1 will testify to?

Do you know which build week that is?

36 if by calendar.

The Dealer confirmed the specific date rather than week.

Yep I've owned a mk1 vRS a couple of years ago and I can reassure you there is nothing to worry about -bar fuel economy there is a massive improvement in every single way!

Update: popped into the Dealer yesterday and the vRs should be hitting these shores mid-October.

Had a drive in their new demo vRS: black with standard wheels so am happy to report I am finally getting more excited after a serious blast around the Eastbourne area. Apparently the vRS is still very popular to the point where some folk are p/x'ing their 10-plate model for new ones!

Chatted with the Salesmen about various car stuff and he mentioned Skoda have finally reduced the delivery times for non-DSG models significantly but those so-equipped are still experiencing delays. Also, due to the offers Skoda have flying around most Dealers have seen record sales in recent months.

It could be a long few weeks.
