Same suspension on 5J as 6Y?

Hi,

I have newly bought my self a Fabia. Its a Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI with Manual gearbox.

Anthracite grey, red sport seats, sat-nav, handsgfree, 8 speakers, 3 spone leather steeringwheel with radio & phone, Cruisecontrol, armrest.

Im looking to lower my car and not do it on coilovers.

I have found some shock absorbers i want, but i havent found any springs that goes lower than 30 mm, but i can find springs for the fabia 6Y that goes all the way down to 60mm.

Can i use the 6Y lowering springs on the 5j sport shock absorber?

Not 100% but I think so. You will need to make sure than the springs are rated for the weight of the mkII

I do alsow think that its the same, but im not sure and that is the problem. I have to be sure! :p

Bummer to buy the lowering springs and to find out that they dont fit after i bought them! :)

Id be very wary about fitting differend model springs...

Also if you wanted a lower ride height, you would be better changing dampers anyway?!

Its just what i needed. These springs http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=28389&xSec=1079 for the 5J combined with these http://www.weitec.com/ww/sport_shocks.php for the 5J, will give the car a total drop of 55mm, just what ive been looking for.

My Sport Edition came with KW lowering springs. I'm very pleased.

Yesterday I also installed KONI Sports shocks and the combination is great.

Front suspension is different on new MK2 Fabias over MK1, look under the bonnet at the strut tops on the MK2, no 13mm bolts like the top of the MK1. They now have the same top bearing and mount as the MK1 Octavia so the top of the spring is smaller.

Sorry to be the voice of reason but how will this affect your warranty? I picked up my Monte the other day and I have to say that it looks pretty good as normal height. Mind you I am 34 so this could have something to do with it. FYI though I slammed my T4 by 60mm with TT 18's so I'm no old prude!

The ride is very good on the Monte as standard. Feels very much like an Audi, certainly much more solid than I expected.

its a lovely car! But its a bit to high for me.. 10-20 mm lover in the front and it would be perfect :)

Would love to drop it further but the roads are not that forgiving around here so I had to find a "middle" solution. :|

buildweek was supose to be week 48, but when he said the car wasnt coming before week 4 2012 i went totally blue on the salesman!

After that, he called me and said that he had put the car on a ''priorety list'', so the build week i now week 46 :D
