Thank you Sir.

Trev, wot Seb says. The belt drives the usual things like water pump of course, but it also drives the oil pump too. It very reliable and much quieter than a chain so you don't need to worry about it.

Not to my knowledge it doesn't? Cambelt drives camshaft off crankshaft, also drives water pump and high pressure fuel pump.

Thanks tech1e, it was the fuel pump I was thinking of, not the oil pump. I'm confuddled! Just had a day networking a very very large building, and it didn't go well emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

Lol, thought I'd missed something then, bizarre thing is I attended a training course this week and servicing and maintenance procedures and part of that was changing the CR cambelt and was beginning to doubt myself..

Thank you also, just signed up to a 60,000 mile, 6year servicing deal which included a cambelt change at 4 years or 60K which ever is first, first MOT, and 10% off any spares needed outside normal service items. Just wanted to know whether I was getting value for money. Cost me £900 all in.

Not bad, got to laugh at the service plans though as the 1.6CR cam belt change is four years or 130,000 miles.

Thanks for the heads up. Pretty damn sure I'll get nowhere near that, it'll be four years for me I reckon
