My new VRS

Featured Replies

Am having my 2011 TFSI remapped at Shark. With 265 BHP, or whatever, will I experience torque steer? I've only been driving Audi quattros for years. Ben says a "whiteline" I think this is what he said, would help to cure any torquesteer, but I'm bothered this will be very visible by Skoda mechanics, and will effect my warranty. Any advise very welcome. Thanks a lot.

You could try fitting the Audi TT mk2/S3 consoles as they are solid bushes and look OEM. The original bushes are voided and very soft, which allows the arm to wiggle about on the rear and gives a squidgy feeling to the steering.

Also consider Revo. PM geordiesherman as he's had both on his vRS back to back, this post gives an insight http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/208434-octavia-vrs-upgrade/page__st__20__p__2471567#entry2471567

Jonno do you work for revo? I often see you backing up and suggesting revo!

OP: yes you will notice torque steer but it's not shocking. If you do get a whiteline I'd be pleased to hear about it.

No, simply trying to provide some balance and objectivity as there are other remaps to shark but that's all I ever seem to hear about on here. I would only ever recommend something that I'd tried and rate myself hence I'm going to say Revo because it really is awesome. I've never tried shark on my car but geordiesherman did and switched to Revo after about a week for the reasons he explained in the other thread. He's the only person I know that's tried both maps back to back and also put his car running shark up against another vRS running Revo, mine. It's personal preference at the end of the day and there are plenty of good remappers out there and whilst they sometimes get a mention anyone reading this forum for the first time could be mistaken in thinking that there is only shark for the vRS.

Back on topic, a whiteline may reduce torque steer (although I can't say I really experience it) and it will only affect your warranty if it contributes to a fault elsewhere. I'd be more worried about the remap and affect on warranty as its arguably more risky in terms of what it could potentially affect.

Just to make it clear, Whiteline is just the brand name for a company that do aftermarket components. The ones mentioned on here the most are the rear anti-roll bar and the anti-lift kit (which is what I assume they are referring to here). I had both fitted at the same time and between them, absolutley transformed the car.

I was thinking of the anti roll bar, had forgotten about the anti lift lit. How much are these fitted?

About £150 each to buy and then either fit them yourself or add labour on top.
