wind deflector help needed

Featured Replies

Hi got some skoda fabia wind deflector for my vrs today and fitted, my problem is they dont seem to fit very well, I cant seem to be able to close the window at the top part of the deflector, stop the window from going up and sends the window down again. These dont come with any clips just seem to slot in place has anyone else fitted the skoda ones, must say I do like the look of them.

skoda are putting mine on as soon as it arrives

I am not a wind deflector man as I think they dont do anything looks wise for a car.

However if your struggling why dont you post some pictures and maybe it would be clearer for some one to help you.

Hope you get them sorted out

i had this for a while dude. does take a good couple of weeks to properly settle in. just make sure the end by the wing mirror goes over the top of the rubber not inside it.

not going to fit them now because of this reason, was told buy the guy at the skoda parts department they were not a lot of cop and if he ordered them I could not return them as he had pointed this out to me and for this reason I will not be able to return tham, should have took his advice so will try and get some of my money back ebay.

if you paid with paypal youve got 30 days from purchase, not fit for purpose they are a waste of time and will damage the rubber the longer they are left on,emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Mine did this when I fitted them.

They need time with the window shut to stop the window going straight down again

24 hours later...They are nicely seated and the window works fine.

Here they are fitted:

the only reason they would damage the rubber is if you install them wrong. skoda would not bother producing them if they damaged the seal.

With the wind deflectors, does it stop the rain sweeping across the side window so that you can still see the mirrors?

Agree with Chris R. When I first bought them we had a bit of trouble but once they've been in a while they mold well and the windows go up and down nicely. Can't say I've noticed about the mirrors but I like being able to have the windows open a little when it rains. Team heko are the ones to go for.

In regard to the rain obscuring the wing mirrors,

I had this issue on driving home from the dealers.

When i prepped and detailed the car, i used rain-x as lsp on the glass which stopped this problem.

Rain x as ISP ? Confused what's this

LSP is a last stage protection/prduct, The final thing you apply after a car wash/protection detail.

Rain-X is just a brand of water repellant, apply it to the windows/mirrors properly and water beads away.

Most motor factors sell it for about £5 a bottle

Thanks marTTyn, i will gie it a try. It is the only annoying thing i have against the car.

Slightly ironicly the hight of the rain roll over is proprtional to the speed, go faster and it will climb up the window.

Van you got it does rise when u go faster
