how do I transfer file from a PC to a iPad - can I plug it in or does it all have to be by wifi?

have to plug it in and use itunes for all file transfers i believe, you could save it in an email on your PC then access it from your IPad, thats what i do for word docs ect.

Use dropbox, simples!

Install it on your mac/pc and put any files you need into the folder, then install the dropbox app on your iPad. All completely free.

I use a free app called Files to transfer documents (such as pdf's) to my iPhone. As long as you have a wifi connection it sets up your idevice as a server and you connect to it using any web browser, which you use as the interface to transfer files.

With my super dooper 1/2 mb broadband (on a good day) any form of "cloud" storage would drive me to distraction :(
