Breather hose (19mm?)

Featured Replies

I know there's lots of threads about the breather hose being 19mm but there's also lots of posts saying that 19mm is too small and won't fit.

Does anyone know where I can get a 1-2m blue silicon hose that will fit the breather perfectly? Some of the hoses I'm finding are like £50 so I really don't want to get it wrong.

I've already bought 2 different sized Mikalor Supra clamps so the only thing left would be something to bung the other end. Again, can anyone link me to something that could do this? I don't have anything laying around that I could use.

The only reason I want to do this is... Ross' FMIC (SeatSport) split due to it getting filled up with **** in under 4 months of use. We can only think it's coming through the breather as the turbo is under 4 months old too. This caused all the boost to go through a smaller percentage of the FMIC causing it to split.

Photos of old FMIC core:

He's since had the old core cut out and a new, uprated core designed for a lorry welded in. The guy/company that done it said the internal design is a lot more efficient than the original design and gains could be had etc...

New FMIC core (same original SeatSport ends):

So yeah, I know it's rare but I'd sooner eliminate the expected cause before this happens. I plan to just bodge it for now by 'venting it to atmosphere'

If anyone can help by linking me to a silicon hose + bung that will definitely fit I'd (we'd) really appreciate it.

Plus, people say the SeatSport core likes to split so this uprated one should be stronger. I was planning to get a new FMIC when I get my new turbo kit but hopefully this will do the job as I do like the SeatSport FMIC.

I got 19mm for my vta mod and it was very snug!!

Got a link?

This fits the rocker cover connector fine: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&productId=184617&categoryId=165746&langId=-1

For the inlet use the stock small pipe and put a coke bottle cap at the end! It's a perfect fit with a bit of tape over it!

Thanks for the link. I'm using washing machine hose and was looking to de-retro it. Only stuff I could find locally was clear tubing, which I think would turn a manky yellow in no time. Never thought to look in Halfords!

I have used one of these to cover the inlet: http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9370497&fh_location=//catalog01/en_GB/categories%3C{9372015}/categories%3C{9372044}/categories%3C{9372218}/specificationsProductType=floor_protection

i went into halfords and they had no clue to what i was after

so went home and ordered online for collection, low and behold they had the hose in the back - numpties

you will probably need a 25mm jubiliee clip to keep the hose on and i just fed it down by the wishbone.

the bung you used, did you take off the small hose and bung the inlet or use it on the small hose?

I'll order online and collect. Maybe tomorrow. Having a lazy day today :)

Thanks for the pic mate.

Check out the elephant hose mod thread. I used a 19mm hose from halfords. About 2 meters and a copper bung to fill the hole from the manifold. I should have pics posted in the thread somewhere
