Hi all,

when I bought my Octavia FL, I found out that the rear speakers were not working, or maybe they're just not activated. I tried playing with the menus in my Swing radio, but couldn't get them to work.

Anyone know a fix?

I think that if it is "S" spec only the front door speakers are present (activated). SE upwards has additional (rear) speakers.

The thing is, I have speakers on my doors (front and rear) and on the dashboard which seem to be the only ones working.... The ones in the rear doors are there but no sound is coming out....

am I missing something? :(

I think it's a VW Group thing. I had the same with my Jetta "S". 2 speakers visible in each of 4 doors, but only the front ones working. I guess they are just not wired up. Must be cheaper to install them in all models and then not connect them in the cheaper specs. I note that in UK brochure the Greenline has 4 speakers, i.e. the 2 in each front door (1 big one by door pocket and tweeter in mirror housing).

In my specs it's written that I have 4 speakers in my Greenline. That's why I was surprised when I got the car and realized that no sound was coming out of the rear speakers. I've been to the dealer many times since my purchase, for different reasons, but I always forget to ask :(

It makes sense to not have them on the basic Skoda Classic models, but the Greenline Ambiente should have them. But then again, maybe they're just not activated....will see.

"Four speakers" is misleading as it is often assumed that it means one speaker in each door. However the Octavia has small tweeters near the door handles in addition to the larger speakers down under the grab handle.

Therefore all "four" speakers are up front, two in each door.

I'm fairly sure the Ambiente specification does not have speakers in the rear doors? Are you sure they are fitted behind the grills?

Also you need to check in the menu settings on the stereo that "FADE" is set to the central position (i.e. the rear speakers are turned on).

True, the small tweeters near the door handles in the front are working. So, in front these are the only ones, plus the large speaker on the dashboard. Then, in the rear doors, there are also two speakers, which don't work. I checked the menu setting and FADE is set to central. Will see what the dealer says...
