Hi all,

finally got my hands on a Fabia VRS 2004 and its a minter, think i may love this car more than my wife...... anyway to the point: I am looking at getting it remapped by Awesome GTI and was wondering is it safe to just remap the car? I am not that knowledgeable about cars but My uncle has advised when he remapped his Megane 225 he had to change the clutch to one that could take the extra power....

At the moment the car is completely standard with FSSH should i not remap and keep this way????

Any help is much appreciated

Cheers Dan

As long as you get a nice smooth remap and drive it sensibly then there is no need for anything extra.

Agreed.

Should be fine, looking into having a remap done soon myself so been doing a bit of research. As long as its a smooth map to around 170bhp 300torq you should been fine, but is recommend you cool down/warm up the car properly before/after giving it some beens as the kkk turbo which the skoda has isnt the best...apparently

Welcome aboard Dan.

In answer to your question the choice is yours. If i were you I would be look at it from a risk assesmen point of view.

I know what a remap does.

I know the risks involved with remapping.

Am I comfortable that things (clutch) may wear out quicker with a remap?

I considered all these and went for it. Standard original clutch ran 173bhp & 290lb/ft for well over 100k. I only changed the clutch as part of a hybrid turbo package.
