Hi everyone , can you help me?

I need a manual of some sort , like Haynes but not sure if any avail? i have a 2000 Fabia 1.9SDi Estate.

Can anyone advise on removal of rear Drum Brake housing to replace Shoes as mine is loose after removing centre nut but will not come away!!

Anyone else had problems with tyres scrubbing at front inside edge, i have had tracking done by several garages but still get the problem after a few months!!

Think that's it for now...

Many Thanks

Martin

regarding removal of the drum it probably just needs a hammer tap around the edge (from the front , not the side ) due to a lip been formed where the drum has worn.

as for tyres it does sound like a tracking issue , try and get it optically tracked maybe , i dont trust those crappy metal ones they dont compensate for wheel distortion.

btw sdi estate owner aswell ( vrs estate soon maybe???) :)

Drum removal.

You dont need to undo the nut. Remove the screw and the drum comes off and the hub stays there. If the drum is stuck on the rust ridge move the drum so a bolt hole is at around the 10 o clock position. Have a look thru it with a torch and you should see a light grey piece of metal with a spring attatched to the end of it. Witha flat blade screwdriver flcik that bit of metal up. This will de adjust the brake shoe adjuster and enable the removal of the drum.

The good news is that there is a manual for the Fabia.

The bad news is that it's in German...

(see http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t12595-fabia-vrs-manuals.html)

A bit of BabelFishing often helps!

Slackening the handbrake cables at the handbrake end also helps when removing the rear drums. I could not find the lever through the bolt hole and could not slacken the shoes other than by slackening the cables.

another resurrected 2 year old thread.

also there is now a haynes manual for the Fabia
