Spacers with 225 width tyres on lowered cars

There are a few posts on here concerning putting wheel spacers on lowered Octy Mk1(particularly VRS 1.8T) but I can't find any with pictures and descriptions of what was done to the arches.

If you have pictures of the car/wheels/arches and/or descriptions of the work needed to accommodate spacers when using 225 or higher width tyres on lowered cars, please add a post with the info.
