Noise when changing gear

Featured Replies

Getting a sound like a low pitched squeal when changing gear ,after checking, dealer says if it gets worse to go back, I feel it is and will go back. My car is a 2010 estate 2-0 lt 140 pd, done 20.000mls, any of you guys have any clues what it could be what it could be, first visit they said it could be a dump valve, if I heard correctly

I get exactly the same thing in my 2009 5-speed manual 1.9tdi estate, and it's most noticable if you change gear quickly. I can best describe it as a low sort of sighing sound, like "gooof", and it happens when the drive is taken up again after changing gear. Car has done 15k miles f5rom new and it's been present since new. Never got any worse though and it's not intrusive. I've always assumed that it was just a characteristic of the DMF, but I'd be very interseted to hear if it's something else.

With no response to my boring enquiry, I shall have to have a more interesting problem in the future, any suggestions?
