Hi folks

Featured Replies

Hi. I've just registered on Briskoda after talking to a bloke with a modded Fabia VRS the other day. Much as i liked his car the reality is i need more space so i've been looking at Octavias recently. I currently own a Subaru Legacy estate, but its running costs are a tad high and i'd like a car that's cheaper to run.

I've been doing lots of online research and it seems a 1.9TDI Octavia estate would be almost as big as the Scoob but halve its running costs. My wife and i headed for the nearest Skoda dealer earlier today as i wanted to compare the first and second gen cars and they had both available to look at. The newer version is obviously more luxurious but the salesman told me both cars are based on the same underpinnings. Therefore my qusetion is this: which version would you buy for £4000? A late first gen lowish mileage car or a slightly newer but leggy second gen.

Regards

Marge

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda.

Are you cute?

As you have said, both have same under pinnings, just go for the best one your money can buy, preferably with service history would be good.
