Fabia Service Spanner Keeps Appearing

Featured Replies

Hello, I've tried searching through the forum but can't see if anyone else is having this problem.

I've recently bought an Fabia 06 plate and love it to bits. However the service spanner light keeps appearing. A friend of mine has a machine to reset the computer and has done this twice now thinking that this would solve the problem. However the car only does 200 miles before the light pops up again. I've had the car properly serviced and so do not think it wants anything.

I've seen on here alot of tips for resetting this but not sure if this is because it's a common fault with Fabia's or not. I'm happy to give the resetting route a go but don't want to cause any damage to the engine by ignoring something I shouldn't be.

Hope that makes sense, thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Chris

What was the fault code showing when you scanned it?

I can't remember the code number but I know it was to change the oil, even though an oil change had just been done.

If this is the spanner on the lower right hand mini screen then this is for the sevices and nothing else! I can't remember of the top of my head....but the method to reset it is in the owners handbook either under the dash section or the DIY section at the back. There are two settings to reset one for oil the other for full service....I have a code reader that resets them but never sucsessfully....so I do it the way in the owners handbook! B)
