I must have picked up a bit of grit in the sponge...

Featured Replies

....and I've scratched the wing.

Its only the finest scratch - less than a hair's width - and there's no impression when running fingertips over it. But I've got a flat Corrida red and the undercoat is clearly white. Its too fine for a touch-up brush.

What's the best thing to do? T-cut it (I'd rather not - the paint's thin enough as it is)? Lipstick?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Can you feel it with your nail?

DJ Lime Prime would be the thing I'd try on it first, whereabouts are you 'cos if you're not too far away I have some LP you can try?

BTW don't use a sponge, get yourself a lambswool mitt and use the 2 bucket method for washing.

If it is a fine scratch then the chances are that it has only affected the clear coat, I hope so.

I have had this and although the scratch looks white and awful it polishes straight out (I used AG Super Resin Polish which is very mild).

Thanks both.

Autoglym seems to have an answer for everything.

I shall be more careful but I'm not sure about two buckets. The wife would think I'm even more an*l than I actually am!

What's that you say? Sponge?

Well these things do happen when you don't use the right kit :)

Whereabouts are you and post up a photo of the damaged area if you can? There might be someone helpful nearby who can help you out....

Oh, and don't go anywhere near it with T-Cut.
