Alarm issues

Featured Replies

Occassionally the alarm on my car goes off, seemingly for no reason, but this last week it's been even more bizarre.

One day returning home from work the alarm started going off as I was driving , then go off for a few seconds then back on....etc. After stopping and removing key I carried on without it happening again on that journey. Then at work the indicators would start to flash as if the alarm was going off but without the audible tones.

Then this morning the alarm came again on the way to work and again on the way home. In between doing this the lights would again start to flash and once I locked it and before walking 30 yards the alarm was going.

So could it be battery related maybe, I'm going to check the connections at the terminals tomorrow, but has anyone got any ideas as to the cause and possible solution. Until I gat manage to get VAG com on it or get the dealers to check it.

Could be a door, bonnet or boot switch. If all doors trigger the interior lights, I'd look at the boot 1st then the bonnet.

Cheers, that's something else to go on, also found out that sometimes the electrical connectors can corode slightly so been advised to check those too.
